Operational Risk & Control Analyst

Permanent employee, Full or part-time · Rotterdam HQ, Hybrid
3,850 - 5,000 € per month
Your Role

We at Blockrise are a successful fintech as a provider of financial services for Bitcoin, fully MiCAR-compliant, dedicated to further building an all-round financial services provider for Bitcoin including custody, buying, selling, and lending. At Blockrise we believe strong compliance is critical and can power growth, not hinder it. As we scale our services, we’re looking for a disciplined and intelligent Operational Risk and Control Analyst to help embed risk and control procedures deeply into our day-to-day operations.

You will play a key role in maintaining the operational governance infrastructure required by DORA and MiCAR. This includes managing and updating the risk register, maintaining policy and procedural documentation, tracking IT backups, and owning the information register. The work is detailed, structured, and mission-critical—requiring both diligence and the ability to engage assertively with peers and senior stakeholders. You will work closely with compliance, operations, and technology teams to ensure regulatory alignment while supporting our ambitious growth plans. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a keen eye for risk, control and governance, who wants to grow into a key function within a fast-moving and forward-looking organisation.

What you'll do
  • Maintain and update the organisation’s risk register and follow up on control actions
  • Own the policy and procedure framework, including version control, annual reviews, and governance logs
  • Maintain the information register and ensure it is DORA-compliant
  • Track and document IT backups, liaising with technical teams to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Ensure risk controls are documented, communicated, and adopted across operational and technical teams
  • Support implementation and reporting requirements for MiCAR and DORA compliance
  • Collaborate with operations and tech to identify process changes and update associated documentation
  • Assist in preparing for audits and regulatory reviews by maintaining audit-ready records

What Success Looks Like in 12 Months

You have become a core part of our compliance and operational backbone. The company remains fully DORA- and MiCAR-compliant, with well-documented and embedded risk and control processes across all business and technology functions. The risk register, information register, and policy library are consistently up to date and audit-ready. Operational and tech teams understand their responsibilities because of your clarity, consistency, and assertive follow-through. You are regularly engaged by the Board and Compliance function, having built trust as a reliable and insightful contributor. You’ve grown significantly in your role—owning your space with confidence—and have become essential to both the resilience and the growth of our business.

What you bring
  • 2–6 years of experience in a regulated industry (e.g., fintech, financial services, healthcare, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with a highly organised and disciplined working style
  • Confident and assertive communicator—able to follow up effectively with stakeholders across departments
  • Prior experience or working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (DORA and/or MiCAR a strong plus)
  • High level of integrity, responsibility, and respect for governance and data handling
  • Proactive mindset and ownership mentality; comfortable managing documentation and risk processes independently
  • Strong writing and editing skills for drafting and maintaining structured documentation
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, scale-up environment with changing priorities
What we offer
  • Competitive salary based on experience 50-65k euro per year.
  • Up to €300 to invest in tools that improve your workflow (headphones, keyboards, etc.).
  • 25 vacation days
  • Participation in our share certificate program.
  • Travel reimbursement or an NS Business Card for your commute.
  • Opportunities for hybrid work, though in-person collaboration is highly valued.
  • Paid training and learning resources to keep your skills sharp and up to date.
  • A fully stocked pantry and fridge at the office, with meals, snacks, and drinks included.
  • Discounted access to Urban Sports Club and LeaseBike plans
