Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Analyst - Crypto Analyst

Your Role
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive CDD Analyst to join our Compliance team at a regulated Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP). You will ensure adherence to MiCAR, EU AML/CFT frameworks, the Transfer of Funds Regulation (Travel Rule), and DORA requirements. This role is vital in mitigating risks of money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions evasion in the crypto sector through due diligence on clients and transactions.
What you'll do
  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for onboarding and ongoing monitoring, including identity verification, beneficial ownership checks, source of funds/wealth, and crypto wallet analysis.
  • Perform transaction monitoring specific to crypto-assets, including compliance with the Travel Rule for transfers.
  • Screen for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media, and high-risk indicators (e.g., mixing services, privacy coins, or unhosted wallets).
  • Assess risks associated with crypto transactions, corporate structures, and on-chain activities.
  • Review and verify documentation in line with MiCAR, AMLD6, Wwft and related regulations.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate suspicious activities or high-risk cases.
  • Maintain detailed records and prepare reports for audits or regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with onboarding, operations, and tech teams to ensure resilient compliance systems (aligned with DORA ICT risk management).
  • Contribute to process improvements and stay abreast of evolving crypto regulations.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Criminology, Economics, or related field.
  • 1-3 years in CDD/KYC/AML, preferably in fintech, crypto, payments, or banking.
  • Basic understanding (and willingness to learn more) of EU AML/CFT regulations, MiCAR obligations for CASPs, and crypto-specific risks.
  • Experience with blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic, or similar) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle complex crypto transaction data.
  • Proficiency in compliance software, databases, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with strict deadlines.
  • Preferred Skills and Certifications
  • Certifications such as CAMS, ICA AML/KYC, or crypto-specific (e.g., Certified Blockchain Expert).
  • Knowledge of DORA for operational resilience in compliance systems.
  • Familiarity with on-chain analysis and Travel Rule implementation.
  • Professional proficiency in Dutch, both in written and spoken context.
